About Us
IGNOS, Delhi has been established by an Act XXI of 1860 of Govt. of India (Societies Registration Act). It is a Minority Educational Institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of Constitution of India for promoting Language education across the country. National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India has declared IGNOS as a Minority Educational Institution. IGNOS is an autonomous body which is established for development of education under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986, and Programme of Action 1992, Govt. of India. The prime objective of the board is to extend help and all support to the students of Minority Community and weaker section of the Society with special emphasis on girls education. The mission of the board is not only to educate the students of Minority Community but also educate all students of India who have not been able to get education for one or other reasons. IGNOS is also recognized by Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
IGNOS is running 8th Standard, Secondary and Senior Secondary level courses in Urdu, English and Hindi medium on the pattern of CBSE/NCERT for students of Minority Community with special emphasis on girls education, rural youth, working men and women, SC/ST, OBC and other disadvantaged persons who could not continue their formal education for some reasons. The Board is also running Language proficiency courses of URDU, AREBIC, ENGLISH, SPANISH e.t.c.
Since, our institution is a minority institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of Constitution of India and has adopted syllabus of National Institute of Open Schooling (an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India). In consideration of this many reputed institute/ Universities/Board of India and aboard has given positive responses by allowing our students to take further admission in higher studies of their institutions by extending recognition of the courses of Secondary and Senior Secondary of Indira Gandhi National Open School.
Our board is committed to promote and popularize education under Open Schooling Education System also and envisaging a comprehensive Self Instructional Study Materials Delivery System that gives an opportunity to the students to get education without attending daily classes & to provide platform for job oriented Government recognized vocational, professional and technical courses and higher education to all irrespective of age/sex/caste/creed/religion or any sort of social, religious or economic discrimination. Education Board is also making all efforts in modernizing Madarsa education by introducing subjects like English, Science, Maths, Computer, etc.
